GEO Academies GBR schools offer rigorous college preparatory programs that include music, art, technology, educational field trips, guest speakers, and much more! GEO’s academic programs help children who are below grade level “catch up” and helps students on or above grade level “move up”.

Greater Education Opportunities (GEO) Academies is a 22-year old non-profit founded with the mission of breaking the cycle of poverty by providing students and families with access to quality educational options in impoverished neighborhoods. With 14 years of experience in charter school management in multiple states, including Indiana, and Louisiana, GEO Academies has developed a customized charter school model specifically targeted to achieving extraordinary academic success in high poverty areas2
GEO operates a network of high achieving schools in Baton Rouge, including GEO Prep Academy (K-8), GEO Prep Mid-City (K-8) and GEO Next Generation High School, opened in 2019 to 9th and 10th grades where our College Immersion Program – a model that enables high school students to take college classes, on a real campus, while the school pays for tuition, books and transportation – is theĀ centerpiece in our efforts to “Beat Poverty”.
