21st Century Charter School at Gary was proud to host a Stericycle school supply donation event on Friday, August 29th. The school’s students excitedly received Stericycle-donated brand-new backpacks, art supplies, writing supplies and many other items, handed out by the Stericycle mascot bear. Stericycle, a medical and biohazard management company that operates two plants in Gary, IN, has generously donated to 21st Century Charter School at Gary in the past as well.
Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson came out to support 21st Century Charter School at Gary and Stericycle partnership and excitedly greeted students, teachers and staff warmly, encouraging students to work hard and do well in school.
21st Century Charter School at Gary has had an exciting start to the school year with many new “firsts!” The school began the first year of its Pre-Kindergarten program, Cougar’s Den Pre-School, and the pre-school program has been a great success!
21st Century Charter School at Gary also began its Free Lunch program for all students, providing a free breakfast and free lunch for every single child at the school. Because enough students at the school qualify for the free-lunch program, the school has been able to qualify to provide a free breakfast and lunch meal to all students, without requiring paperwork from any family.
21st Century Charter School at Gary is proud of its 100% graduation rate (with no high school drop-outs!) in THREE times in the last FOUR years.
